Network 1 Approved to Begin Wireless Program in Cottleville.

Cottleville latest project in series of municipal agreements.

January 29, 2008: O'Fallon, MO --- Network 1 Communications has announced it will provide subscriber-based wireless Internet service for the entire city of Cottleville. Cottleville Wireless, powered by Network 1, is the latest accomplishment in a campaign to bring several cities in the St. Louis metropolitan area online with Network 1's wireless network services.

Cottleville signed the wireless Internet agreement with Network 1 after its Board of Alderman unanimously approved the proposal during a meeting on Jan. 24.

"We are really excited about it," said Cottleville Mayor Don Yarber. "This is a great opportunity for us to offer citywide Internet access to our residents."

Having the citywide wireless connection has been on the city's wish list for the past few years, Yarber said. Network 1 approached the city last year to discuss the program.

The city of O'Fallon, Mo., was the first city in the country last year to set up a citywide, subscriber-based program with Network 1. Since then, Network 1 has met several other cities to develop similar wireless network agreements, including the cities of Dardenne Prairie, St. Paul, Florissant, Kirkwood, Brentwood and Maplewood.

Network 1 will be offering new subscribers 30 days of free wireless connectivity. Subscribers can choose one of three options, all based on connectivity speed and ranging in price from $19.95 to $49.95 per month. Prices and plans can be viewed on the O'Fallon Wireless Web site, at www.ofallonwireless.com. Cottleville residents also can calling Network 1's customer service hotline at 636-614-1364.

Due to the unexpected increase in demand for this service, activation of individual accounts may take 5 to 10 days. Activation times also may vary depending on the need for installing more equipment.
